I found a Remington model 700 ADL in 7mm mag at Academy for $338 so I think I am going to go with it! Sounds like I can't go wrong with either caliber! Thanks again!

Well I went with the Remington 700 ADL in 7mm mag topped with a BSA Catseye 3.5x10x50mm with super high leupold rings! All for $444!!! It came with a hardcase and sling from Academy!!! I'll post a pic as soon as i can!

Man, that's a GREAT deal!! That's a little more than what it cost me to get my 700ADL in -06 setup, 6 years ago.
Later,
Dave

Well I've got to admit, my brother-in-law works there and got me 25% off on the scope and rings and 15% off the rifle! It pays to know people sometimes! I hope the BSA holds up to the mag!

what is the best choice for distance and brush punching ability? Regardless of what you may have heard, there's no such thing. Brush will deflect a bowling ball if it's moving fast enough. Remington makes some good guns. But the best gun for the money, in my opinion, would be a Tikka or a Savage.

Looks like you forgot to mention the Old Ugly Red Chicken brand. What worries me is the way Remington's quality and customer service has slipped over the last several years.I have a Rem 700 ADL in 270 which has proven to be a good rifle. It's about 8 years old.I would be hesitant buying a new Remington of recent mfg. That's just my opinion for what it's worth.
