Here's an on-line ballistic calculator I find handy. I chronograph all my loads and run them through the calculator. It gives me a good feel for bullet drop and wind affect. I plastic laminate the data and carry it with me while hunting. When shooting from a stand (Dawn and Twilight), I determine the distance to the major features in the area (trees, rocks, etc.) and If a deer shows up I have a good feel for distance and bullet drop.

Hey Val, did you forget something? I don't see the calculator or link.

Those ballistic calculators are great. I got a copy of the LEE Shooter program. Best $10 I've spent on a program. It has a ballistic calculator, SD calculator and a rate of twist calculator. Plus it also has a reloading log, so you can keep track of your reloads.
Later,
