How many NRA Members do we have here? I first joined annually in the early 70's. 1977 I became a Life Member. Last year I upgraded to Endowment Life Member .I feel it's our best chance to save our guns and freedoms. If you're not a member please join.I'm not trying to get a debate or argument going.I'm a strong believer in them .........Hope you are too!

i was. but once i joined, the constant junk mail, and telemarketer calls, wanting MORE money led me to let my membership expire. if i could have afforded to give them more money, i would have when i joined. i don't have an endless string of cash coming outta my arse. i know what the NRA stands for, and what they are trying to do for us, and that it is a worthwhile organization, but i have had it

T-roy I agree they send allot of junk mail. I've gotten to where I don't even open it.On another site which I see you on F4YG and others have said you can ask them to take you off the junk mail list.I just never got around to calling them.If you receive their junk mail drop it the garbage if you don't want to read it. It costs allot of money for the legal fees. They have to get funds somewhere. The membership is a good place to start. I can't afford to give everytime they ask. I do what I can.

I was a annual member off and on for years. Then, the day Clinton was inaugurated I joined as a life member. I too used to get tired of all the solicitation for money, but, they have to get it from someplace. So I donate when I can, and trash the rest. I used to get a kick out of them sending me applications to join, AFTER I became a life member. I finally got that stopped when I photocopied my life member card, and wrote at the bottom that I wasn't interested in paying 30.00 to become a regular member.

Danny I knew you were a Life Member. Not only from your signature but comments you made on other sites.I think becoming a Life Member is a smart move.Especially for a young person. When I went for life it was 300.00 right before the increase.Last year at Buck-a-rama in GA the NRA had a booth there. I stopped to chat with them.Naturally they wanted me to join. I mentioned I was a life member already. He asked if I would like to upgrade to Endowment.I told him no. I went on through the show and kept thinking about the upgrade. Not sure what the upgrades actually cost I went back and asked. He told me 150.00.It was a special price offered. Show price you might say. I really didn't have the money to spare. Then again it's for a good cause,so I went for it.I don't regret it for a minute.Being a member you are offered allot of benefits.I haven't taken advantage of any. Car insurance, rental cars etc.For the 30.00 a year you can't beat all you get for your money.I enjoy the "American Rifleman" I get every month. Actually since I got involved with these hunting site,I very seldom read them.I have every issue saved from the time I joined the NRA.Last year a guy at work offered me a good size box of old A.R.'s from back in the 50's / 60's and some 70's It's very interesting looking at them. Prices make you drool.Yes I'm very proud to be part of the NRA.I might not agree with everything they do but they're the best bang for your buck

I'm just a "regular" member, but I have been regular since I was 18, when I had the money to go lifetime, I ended up spending it on something else! I have been known to skip a few years here and there, but I have support causes in the past, but I do get tired of the money solicitation, I'm on a fixed income now, and cannot afford to help out, I wish they would get that through their head, and leave me alone about it!

I've been a regular member for 10 years now. I find that if you send the postage paid envelopes to them with a note to stop they will stop.....lol. Hate to do it but it finally worked.

Reb glad to have you aboard as a fellow NRA Member.I'm sure if you ask They'll take you off their mailing list. I need to do it myself.I send money when I can but I sure don't need to be reminded a few times a week.

I'm off the mailing list, only thing they send me now is membership renewals. Sending back an empty envelope works well with credit card junk too....I can't remember the last time I got something from a credit card company trying to give me a card I don't need.

GT, I agree about all the mailings. I would rather see then put something in the magazines.Attach an envelope inside. Run a full page ad.There has been allot of ,members who dropped out for just this reason. They sure don't need to remind us twice, three times a week.If every memeber though would even send 10.00 a year in that would give approx.40 million dollars to use for a good cause. I do appreciate your support for the NRA .

It's been awhile since I have been called by them.I bought a few of the books they offered. The last couple times I turned them down. Honestly I can't remember if I asked them to take me off their calling list or not.I get so many calls trying to sell stuff. I ask them to take me off their lists. Then again I signed up for that Telemarketer no call list. Whatever it is it has seemed to work fairly well.
