Well I grew up in the mountains there werent many deer to hunt. It took me 10l years but I finally stumbled on a good place high in the mountains. This place is on a 4000 ft mtn and is the only flat area for miles. I was hunting one Thanks giving sitting against a big tree and thought another hunter was walking up behind me. I heard him start peeing and i got mad. I stood up turned around and it was a deer that had been peeing an 8 point my first deer. So I hunted that spot the next year and a 10 point one in the pic. came in trailing a doe he was my biggest rack deer with a 21in spread. The year after that I was in the same place and a doe came out of the thicket with her tail half raised. I thought she saw me I heard a strange noise behind her in the thicket. It sounded like a squirrel barking and out came the 9 point 19 in spread and field dressed 195# the other one in the pics he never looked at nothing but that doe and was making a strange noise when I shot him it wasnt a grunt it was more like a squirrel bark. I have killed 6 bucks in 6 years from that same place on the ground in the mountains . And seen all different kinds of game way up on that mountain I could write a book on the things that I have seen up there. Good Huntin to all and I hope all of you find a special place like I have this place is on Public land and i have seen one hunter in 10 years.

No Bigtyme i was huntin Curtis creek in Old Fort that is where I grew up. I have been turkey huntin and Sang huntin in Madison though I dont know the name of the place. I used to go across Dogget Mtn (Leicester Highway) till I came to the end on a 2 lane hwy 209 (not sure of name) but there was a general store there i dont know if its still open or not. Any I would go right toward hot Springs on 209 I would go about 2 miles from the store and a branch came out of aBig Big holler on the left . I would go up that gravel road past the houses to a Gate I parked there and hunted that holler. Do ya know the name of it ? it was logged some a few years ago. I used to dig nothin but big 4 prongs (waist High} in there but someone has dug it out now. I never did know what the name of that holler was?
