No problem..wow this would be a long post if I wrote soup to nuts..but some people bait..I never have and dont know whats involved in that..we use a harthingy or bow..attached to a bouy...when you find what you want..I usually go for one nice 8 footer and one record..the eight footers have pretty hides and thats the whole point for us is the hides....the big boy is just for braggin rights and the head...then you try and get a good position to hit him with a bangstick 38 cal. or 44.cal and hit him at the base of the skull, big boys usually take a few shots they just dont die...duct tape their mouths and pull them in..thats simplified..but the jest of it...some gators are just mean and go into a death roll and if you know anything about the vegetation of the everglades that is sometimes the hardest part..at least for us it is, course finding nice ones can be an all night ordeal or I should say multi-night for us..we know just what we want and sometimes they are out sometimes they arent..big boys are as big as they are because they arent stupid..its tough to get them to hold in deep water and thats where I look for 11"+, but some nights you get lucky and find them. I have seen guys use bows and hit the spine and kill them instantly, but that takes talent and strength I dont have..I cant pull back that many times a night and have a workable arm the next day..so I use a harthingy, usually two for big ones..and then the fight is on for some reason this post wont let me spell har-poon
