I've never been varmit hunting before unless you count shooting ground hogs. I got a 17mm HMR and im itchin to try it out. When is the best time of the day to hunt coyotes and foxes? I was thinking early in the morning or late in the afternoon, thats when i've seen coyotes and foxes the most. does baiting help? And if so what do I use for bait? Im going this weekend to look at some predator calls too. Does anyone know what kinda calls eork the best?

There is no closed season for yotes here in NC but check the regulation on foxes. Usually early morning late afternoon to hunt them would invest in a rabbit squaler to get the yotes in

Good rabbit distress hand call works great! I use dead rabitts for bait but call over it at night with a spot light! I have shot yotes coming to bait piles in the early morning hours! If you bait i tend to bait out an area for a couple of days before i hunt over it to get them used to coming to it! All personal preference! Good luck! Early morning and late evening works best for me! Have fun!
