Does it work to set out a decoy for blackbirds and crows? I am sure setting out a decoy of an owl will set a crow into a fight, because they are natural enemies.. but like to attract and such..does it work? I would like to hear yalls personal experiences.. god bless

Setting out decoys for crows gives them something to home in on when they hear the call. "Death Cry of a Crow" has always been my favorite call. They come a running to see what's getting one of their buddies! I've killed countless numbers of them over the years, always fun. I only got out a couple times or so last season, slowing down I guess. Fall has always been my favorite time of the year, they are flocking up and hitting the cut milo and bean fields. There are some hunts that do stand out, the first was in 1975 right after I'd got started calling. Set up in a sand plum thicket at the edge of a cut milo field. Had so many crows on the ground in front of me and I ran out of shells, had to go to town and get more shells and my buddy. We slaughtered them that day. The next one that stands out was just a couple years ago. Had 42 on the ground when the Game Warden came down to check my license, he was rather amazed. He was new and hadn't ever seen the likes.

But i do know about putting a owl decoy out will make the crows attack it.. But like mates and such, like deer.. does that work as well? thanks for the advice.. god bless
