The saga begins with me wanting a new shotgun. I beg and plead, bribe and threaten, but she finally gives in. So off I went looking for a shotgun. Decided on a Stoeger M2000 in full camo, 12 gauge, 3" chamber. Shotgun: $475.00 w/ tax. Then I convince her I need some accessories. I need a new turkey call (19.99), a crow call (15.99), diaphram calls (3 pack for 12.99), and a new owl hooter (12.99). Oh, and don't forget shotgun shells (12.99), new fanny pack (19.99), a cushion for the step-daughter to sit on (11.99), a ground blind (15.99), hard shotgun case (29.99), and gun cleaning supplies (29.99). Accessories: $182.90 + tax. Then I have to drive out to the woods to look for places that would serve my purpose. Gasoline at $40.00 a tank. Let's see. That was two trips to look things over, and one trip today. Gasoline: 120.00 So, for what I anticipated to be an enjoyable time in the woods for several days, I spent a grand total of $777.90. What did I get out of all that money? Exactly 30 minutes in the woods, one shot, and this; My very first wild turkey.
