I have recently noticed more and more different types of electronic turkey calls on the market than ever. Has anyone ever used one before? Im sure they probably sound good because most electronic calls do, but doesnt that take the fun out of it? I dont know about anyone else but I get a big rush out of using a diaphram or box call to call in a "Wild" tom. Just the thought of knowing that I sounded good enough to fool a smart bird like a gobbler is reason enough for me to say NO to electronic turkey calls.

Electronic turkey calls. Nonsense. Next thing you know they will be selling a robot that goes out and shoots the bird for them.

Did you see on the news where a guy in Texas is letting people hunt on-line? You can pay with your credit card and hunt. You can even aim the gun yourself. Someone stays there to load it but you control it with your mouse. Crazy, huh?

If a manufacturer will make a "GIMIC" a hunter will buy it! About 90% of the gear on the market, today, is not needed. I started turkey hunting in 1960, with a Savage 311 Double barreled 12 ga. (Full/Mod) Rem/Peters 2-3/4in #6 in 3-1/4dram powder, 1-1/4oz lead and a slate call with a Walnut/Corncob and Cherry/Corncob striker and killed turkeys with that until I got a Lynch's box about 1971. I, now, have a Rem.870Mag SPS-T, a boxcall, 4 mouthcalls, a slate, aluminum and glass call with 6 strikers and that's enough! The set-up is the most important aspect of turkey calling, not how many gimics you have overloading your vest. Confidence, Patience and Persistance are your allies....use them.
