Have yall ever done this? I have searched the web a few times and found several sites about hunting with blowdartguns.. I am sure they are for squirrel, birds and small game...you wouldn't wanna shoot a deer or such with this thing i am sure unless for defence or to tranquilize it.. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks and good luck this season! God bless

I've heard of people hunting with blowguns. Personally, I wouldn't hunt with one, without lots of practice on small game targets. I'm curious has to how effectiveness of these blowguns.

Dave

I did try it once when I was a teenager some time ago They are not that effective they mostly wound more than they kill or they just get to the nest and die thier. I would not recommend it to anyone

I went to a website that hosted blowgun hunting, they did it on squirrels and such, shooting them in the head, but i am sure you would have to be pretty accurate with the blowdart gun to hit a squirrel in the head! I've never tried it either, which is why i was asking because i am interested, i got a blowdart gun i think a 32".. But anyways, i will try it a few times, and if it doesn't work or i keep wounding them, i will quit.. Good luck hunting to yall and god bless

If you are using a standard 40 caliber blowgun, that's not a good idea. You will have a hard time killing squirrels. You'll just end up wounding a bunch. The people that kill game that size use bigger blowguns with bigger projectiles. I have shot squirrels with one when I was younger. I hit one repeatedly in good spots and I never saw it die. I even shot a little sparrow once, and he flew off a good ways. If you are serious about it, make sure you have a big blowgun.
