Here in Georgia, we can hunt Boar year round but if you are huntin the WMA's, you have to use a gun that is appropriate for the season. Deer gun in deer season, small game in small game season.
Small game can only be hunted by rimfire and no larger than .22. Exception is a shotgun. I like to use a scope. How effective is a .22 WMR on Hog? Would it be better to use a hollow point or would a jacketed type bullet penetrate better? I also have a little .410 single shot with a 14" barrel I carry in a holster. If hunting hog, I would load it with slugs as a backup. Headinsouth

Do I have to use a gun, LOL? I still prefer a 6" to 8" Dextar Russel or a K-Bar.

Took one with a bow years ago,below is the only one I took with a rifle,270wsm,shot it in the throat @150 yds,went about 20 yards.This was in SouthCarolina.Going back to SC but another place next year want to try my savage muzzleloader then.

These days I use a .260remington 140gr projectile most of the time, shot a lot with a 45/70 and a 22/250
