OOOH! Muzzleloading season is right around the corner! (for me anyway..) October 30th and i will hit the woods with the muzzleloader! I have shot it today to see how well it kicks and such, it don't kick bad, and it is a pretty great muzzleloader, threw in 90 grains of powder with a 250 grain bullet, so it blew a soda can in half at 30 yards.. I have iron sights, it's my dads traditional muzzleloader, so he is going to teach me how to clean it and all tomorrow... So, yall have another muzzleloader hunter here Good luck this season and god bless

Thanks grandpa buck! I mean quigley... Anyway, congrats on your new status! I am confident i can hit with the muzzleloader pretty well...i am going to practice with my bb gun that is a lever action, and it has iron sights, so it will help me out a bit... Gotta see where the longest range that bb gun can go with iron sights...Cause my dad said the muzzleloader can go up to 100 yards (his can anyway) and i need to be able to hit at least at that yardage... Anyway, thanks for the good luck and good luck to you too! God bless

I'd keep my shots under 100yds. and not bother with the long ones. I've never had to shoot a deer with one at that range. Most have been under 50 yards. This years a good example, 18yds. on one and 25yds. on the other. The ole muzzleloader is what you need to be practicing with, get familiar with it not the BB gun. There's not comparison in the bullet drop between the two. When the day comes, you'll do well. To avoid any mis-fires on opening day, dry patch it real good to get all the oil out of her, pull the nipple and run a pipe cleaner in it and the flash hole. If it's got a clean-out s c r e w, pull it too and run a pipe cleaner through it from that direction. She'll not mis-fire and it'll save popping caps through it like alot of folks do.

Thanks Well the comparison i made with the bb gun and the muzzleloader, is the bb gun has iron sights just like the muzzy, and i can only shoot up to 20 yards with my bb gun anyway, because we own such a small lot of land, now out there in orange, i have plenty of land! I agree, muzzleloaders are different from bb guns... I am sure i will drop a deer this year! God bless
