How do y'all prepare for it? Myself, I generally am not concerned with the muzzle end cause of the REAL bullet, lube and wonder wad. On the percussion cap end is my concern, I've been using the "Quick Seal" over the cap with good luck. It's a little silicone cap that slips down over the other. Plus carry the rifle in a traditional style case, been good to go. Last opening muzzleloading day those "Quick Seals" really got put to the test. It rained most of the day, I was out in in before daylight and all evening. Left the rifle loaded overnight and it fired without a hitch at 7:00 the next morning when I dropped my buck. I was sold on those "Quick Seals" then.

I've never had a problem until last year.My Knight Extreme was in the rain for a few days. When I would remove the Full Jacket to put the rifle in my case.Water and moisture entered through the breech plug.My solution to this is. I took a half dozen of the Red Full Jackets. I siliconed them sealing the primer cavity with RTV silicone. Now rain or shine I should have it covered.I hunted for many years with my Renegade. Rain or shine I never had a misfire. When I would uncap it,I'd take a folder paper towel, put it over the nipple and carefully let the hammer down on it.It's always worked for me,can't see any reason to change now.
