Don't mix! Seen one meet his maker last night. Had strapped on the .44 and walked up to my brother-in-laws on a shooting and corn robbing mission, we were standing there BS'ing when he says "quick, give me your pistol" , then he head shot the little fella. I've noticed that's one of Roy's pet peeves, is a rabbit in his garden, they generally don't last long. Anyone one else shoot them with the ole blackpowder?

The poor little fellar was just trying to survive. He was hungry.I've never small game hunted with BP.I use a 22 when I do.I had a place that was over run with Armadillo's.My armadillo medicine was a single shot 4 hundred and 10.Almost every night when I was there I would play the waiting game.Sooner or later one would appear.I thinned them out in short order.I sold that place and sure miss the armadillo shooting. Now that 410 is rattlesnake medicine.Thankfully only had to use it a few times. Ruger Redhawk

RR did you ever eat any armadillo? My great aunt used to tell me they taste like pork roast, never got a chance to try one.

Quigley, One time we ate one. They are very good.I agree they do taste like pork.In fact in those parts they call it "Poor Man's Pork". A friend was up that weekend. He suggested we try it.Never gutted it.We cut the shell off and then sliced it like a turkey. We could have gotten allot more meat , we weren't sure if it would be good so we made a fast job of it. We BBQed it. It was really good.I wouldn't hesitate eating another one.Where I live now, very seldom do I see any.You don't miss something until it's gone.

We're getting more and more of them around here, see them dead at the side of the road everywhere. I've just never ran in to one that I could shoot. When that day comes, I'll try me some armadillo!
