I have a scope on my Ruger M -77/50 which is still unfired. My Knight has fiber optics. In Ga scopes aren't allowed during their BP season. If and when that changes there will be a scope on my Knight.Any help for my tired eyes.I do like the Fiber optics but they can't compare to a scoped rifle.

Where would I mount one? If it's a traditional ML you should use it traditionally!

I've seen Traditional ML's with scopes before. They have mounts for them. The barrel has to be drilled and tapped. I agree on a Traditional use it as a Traditional.

RR one reason I say where would I put it? Is that I would never drill holes in a 1500 dollar custom built gun, and one my dad built for me, I will never sell it, and the effective range of a .40 cal round ball is maybe 110 yards, past that the round ball looses it's 2000+fps muzzle velocity dramatically, and the round ball becomes unstable and inaccurate, and I have better than 20/20 vision so I can see well enough to take a deer with open sights out to maybe 150 yards, but like I said there are distance dissadvantages to shooting round ball's especially with the smaller caliber that I use, I had a .45 cal Tenneessee Mountain rifle before the one I have had since 79, and I once took a deer at about 125 yards with it, but it was a more stable ball with a lot more powder behind it! The first ML I had was a T/C .50 cal hawkin, I took a lot of deer with that gun too, my first one in fact but I used maxi-ball's which pack a heck of a punch, plus they are more stable at long distances, my friend that has that Knight muzzle loader is accurate out to 300 plus yards with a scope, it's a heck of a shooter, and he used BP not Pyrodex, I would like to get one of those new in line ML's and save the wear and tear on my old Tenn. Rifle, but at this time I cannot afford one, I hope I can get one by next season, right now I am saving for a crossbow, that have just been legalized in Alabama for bow season, and bow hunting the whole season, problem is it's not legal on the management area's I hunt, so I have to apply for a Disabled Hunter's Licence, which allows me to use a crossbow, and a lot of other privillages, but I still like to hunt like the rest of the guy's do!

Hi hear you Backstrap. I wouldn't drill holes either in the custom rifle.Ga last year or year before last legalize Crossbows during archery.I got a Horton CB at Walmart at the end of the season. Regularly 288.00 marked down to 177.00.It's Yukon model.Has everything you need. Complete with quiver, bolts sights etc.I might give it a try during archery this year.
