Well my whole day hunting didn't see anything but alot squirrels, birds, and 2 hawks. Not even anything that sounded like a deer walking I talked to about 10 other hunters tonight and some of them I know are excellent hunters they didnt even hear anything either Since we can't hunt on Sunday here in NC I will go tomorrow and look at the property some more and decide if I need to move my stand. I hope not but I hope y'all had a better day than me

well BT, to tell you the truth, hunt the stand for a few days before moving it, maybe they weren't moving at the time, there are tons of reasons, don't give up on the area just because you didn't see one the first day, if it looks and seems like a good spot then you are probably on a hot spot! So do me a favor and keep at the spot for about a week or so, if then you don't find anything, then move.. god bless and good luck next time!

I went and rescouted for almost 6 hrs today found 2 locations that are better traveled it appears. as for moveing the stand it ison the corner of my foodplot and there wasnt anyfresh tracks in it with all the rain we had this week it would've shown tracks very easy .But with all the rain we have had this year food is plentiful and I think that they just aren't staying away from the bedding area that much

yeah there are several reasons why deer normally don't move, either they fed late in the morning due to pressure or storms and they came out early or real late in the evening when you aren't in the stand. or it could be the pressure itself, you said there was 10 hunters? that may have had an effect, and like you said the rain, i am sure weather affects them, but i am not sure about rain, they are known to feed in the rain.. Scouted for 6 hours!?! I normally scout for like 30 minutes to and hour until i find a good area, which our place in orange is 20 acres, and i am sure you have more than that to hunt..oh well.. Maybe next time you will get em! What i would do is set up a few stands if ya have a lot of land, find a few good places and set up stands, that way when you hunt a spot for a few days and decide to move, then you wont have to scout again to find a new area, all you have to do is go to another stand and hunt.. i wish you good luck and god bless

I only scouted about15 acres and the 10 hunters was county wide yeah there are several reasons why deer normally don't move, either they fed late in the morning due to pressure or storms and they came out early or real late in the evening when you aren't in the stand. or it could be the pressure itself, you said there was 10 hunters? that may have had an effect, and like you said the rain, i am sure weather affects them, but i am not sure about rain, they are known to feed in the rain.. oh.. 15 acres huh? Well the property in orange is 20 acres, but we are going to clear out a few acres and make it open, but we will leave woods.. i am thinking that if this stand location that i have now (check 'new stand location' thread in Deer Huntin forum) fails or isn't any good, then i will find a new location somewhere, but for now i am stationary right there.. Like i said, hunt there a few days before giving up, cause i know that the greatest hunter doesn't give up the first day.. Give it a week at the most.. Anyway, good luck hunting and next time bag us a big one! God bless
