I bought my Horton crossbow from a local dealer a couple of years ago for a little over $200. (185lb pull) I also purchased the crank attachment for c0cking it, which set me back about 80.00. Everything together was about $300 and he tossed in 6 bolts too!.
The first year, I just used the single pin site, and it worked fine. Last year I added a red dot scope to the crossbow ($30.00) and I really like it!
I had one problem with the bow, and it happened 5 days before our season opener last year. I had a small crack appear in the limb. I called Horton and told them what was wrong, and they said "send it back and we'll replace it." Then I told them about how the season was opening in 5 days, she said "No problem, Just take the entire yoke and limbs off, and ship them back, and I will ship you a whole new yoke, limbs, and string to you overnight."
The next day at 10:00 am I had it. Put it back on the crossbow, (just 1 bolt to $crew in) and shot it. It was still zeroed perfectly! Needless to say, with customer service like that, I'll stay a Horton Customer.

Nothing having to do with sporting goods is "reasonable" any more. But there are some good deals. Look thru Cabela's and Bass Pro catalogs. Especially their big fall hunting books, and Cabela's Archery book.
Horton makes a good one, and there are several others out there that are good too. You get what you pay for, so if it looks like a really good deal, be careful.
