When did you first start bowhunting? And no, shooting that "Lil Sioux" fiberglass bow as a kid doesn't count!! I started in 1985. Was a fanatic about it until a couple of years ago.

I have been bow hunting for around 7 yrs, I started with a Bear bow...it only took 30 days for me to head back over to the pro shop and pick me up a real bow, I have been hooked ever since!

When did you first start bowhunting? And no, shooting that "Lil Sioux" fiberglass bow as a kid doesn't count!! :)quote] Well, it wasn't a "Lil Souix", but I started out with a 35 lb recurve from Sears. (Y'all do remember when Sears actually carried bows AND guns don't you?) I never used it to hunt deer, but I did dispatch a lot of rabbits with it. I used to slowly walk the fencerows, and catch 'em setting still. In the winter I would track rabbits in the snow until I spotted them backed up under a pine or a bush. I missed a lot of 'em, but the ones I brought home were tasty. Why wouldn't that count as hunting? My first deer hunting bow was a 55lb recurve that i got in 1977. First Compound Bow was a Bear Whitetail Hunter in 1983. I went through many others, and my last bow was a Jennings X-Master. 3 years ago I had an injury, and thought I'd have to give up bow hunting. But my Doc (who also hunts) fixed me up with a crossbow permit, and I'm back into it. I'd still rather be hunting with a compound or recurve bow, but for now ... the crossbow will have to do.
