Our new law that changed primitive weapons to allow the sharps rifles, now allow the H&R handi rifles. So that means that any caliber above a 38. will be allowed as far as the handi rifles go. They are also fairly cheap (around $250) and you can use normal ammo in them. Also they are allowing crossbows for anyone now, all you have to do is buy a 15 dollar license.

May just have to move to Mississippi. There are alot of folks whining about the new regs. The ones I see doing all the whining are the in-line shooters. Now before feathers get ruffled...I'm not refering to any in-line shooters here. Just what I've seen in my journeys. I've stated then as now...them ole rifles have more of a place in a primitive season than most I see toted into the woods these days. It's hard for me to understand how a person with a plastic stock and scope on a blackpowder rifle can whine about someone shooting a time honored rifle such as a Sharps or H&R? Myself...would prefer them to be shooting a blackpowder cartridge with lead bullets if they're going that route. Seems to be more fitting in my opinion.
