Well today wrapped up our season.Between the two of us we did fairly good.My partner shot a 6 point down here. In GA we shot 6 deer.Last Thursday afternoon my partner shot a nice doe. He tracked it for quite awhile. The next morning I went to help find it with no luck. Blood everywhere until it got to a creek. That same morning I had two spikes and not sure what the third was come flying by. I got a shot off on the second spike.I watched him stumble. It was in a flooded area.Blood again everywhere floating on the water.I looked for my spike then had to go help look for the doe. After looking for that doe we went back looking for my spike again. It's hard to believe but we lost both of these deer.Yesterday morning in the same stand I would have sworn it was a doe. Turns out to be a Knot Head.Boils down that we lost three deer this year with is very unusual.I would much rather have a clean miss instead of wounding or losing one.

Thanks guys, BT I agree it was strange in GA also.Opening weekend we got three deer. Then I never saw one for a couple of trips up.I did get a shot at a couple. The scope was soaking wet and I just plain missed. Then the last 5 days I saw 7 deer. One no kidding was the biggest buck we've ever seen there. He was in the sapplings when we were driving out from taking our stands down. I spotted this almost Black thing. It was so big I wasn't sure what I was seeing plus the Black or dark color made me think it wasn't a deer. I jumped off my 4 wheeler. Got the rifle out. Turns out being this monster buck then he makes a 180 and disappeared. When I saw him again running through a field he must have been 300-400 yards.I lead him and never cut a hair. That was one time I had wished I had my 7mm RM instead of my 270.I was ready for the season to end financially. It gets expensive running back and forth with these rediculious gas prices. Now I'm starting to save for this coming year's lease.Like I said we did fairly well.If I could have nailed that buck I'd be talking about it for years to come.
