I finally got to put my new camera to use and this is what I came up with. I shot this doe about 20 minutes after a mutt ran a freakin herd of deer out past my stand. The first link is to a 10 mb video, better quality but takes longer too view. The second link is to a smaller video, better for dial up but harder to see the deer. Didn't get to zoom in good enough, she kept watching me...lol. They are both in Windows Media Player format.. 10mb -> users.dixieconnect.com/rebnbit/Video/doekill.wmv5mb -> users.dixieconnect.com/rebnbit/Video/doekill2.wmv

Nice shot! good work! Great video! Congrats on the doe! i never shot and had it hit the ground in it's tracks, then again i am only 15, so there is plenty of time for that... Nice video, kinda windy that day eh? Great job! at least we could actually see you in action

Thanks 12 gauge. The doe falling in her tracks is what a 30-06 with 165 grain Federal Premium Vital*Shok nosler ballistic tip will do to them...lol. I've only had to look for one deer for more than 15 minutes, she turned as I pulled the trigger and ended up shooting her through the butt , except for the one I shot at 200 yards in a sage grass field. By the time I got around the ditch and gravel pits I'd lost where I shot it. Took me a while to get that one. I got some more video yesterday, had two does in front of my stand for a while. Then a little spike came out and he stuck around for 3 hours. I wish I could post the video but it's way too big to try to upload to my site. It's pretty funny, the spike started chasing the doe around the field, then she turned and ran his little butt off for a minute or two. He came back a little farther down field from the does and left them alone..lol.

what the one in the video? this video, you shot in the butt?? It looked to me like you nailed her in the boiler room... 30-06 eh? that'll do it every time..i hunt with a 30-30, i never shot a 30-06 or a 25-06...I am just a bit too nervous of the recoil, just a little though... lol right after halloween my brother shot a HUGE pumpkin that they bought (it was already carved out) and he shot it with his 30-06, and man i swear the hole was as big as his fist! he made 3 holes all together and it looked like he litterally took a cannon and blasted it! It was fun watching it, pieces of pumpkin flew in the air! it was so funny! lol! I am sort of dissapointed with myself so far... My first deer i shot it in the butt with my bow and arrow, and now i got the nickname "butt shot kid", then after that i shot a doe with my 30-30 at 75 yards and nailed her in the guts...with my elk i didn't feel bad for him...(that's my elk in my avatar) i shot him twice in the lungs and heart with the shots no more than an inch from each other, i missed tons of times with my bow and i wounded 2 with my bow, i shot a button head (it was dark lol) and scraped his back, got hair and meat, then i "no man's land" a spike a big spike! and couldn't find him! So out of all those animals i shot and hit 1 i had a clean perfect kill... *sigh* Man! i need to practice a whole lot more!!!!!!

Naw 12 gauge, not the one in the video. The butt shot one is one I killed a few years ago.
Thanks 243.
Got some more video yesterday but my battery died on me after like 10 seconds...lol. I figure it was just too cold for it. Got in the truck and turned up the heat and the battery was fully charged again.

actually the recoil isnt all that bad I've never shot it so i have no idea.. I guess it won't be as bad as the 12 gauge, and if i can shoot that, then i can shoot anything! (except a 10 gauge..) God bless
