same here. Me and my dad went out a few days and never did see anything, except October 2nd in the evening, he saw a doe.. But since then we haven't seen anything.. We might go this evening depending on how the weather holds up.. Right now it is sunny with a slight breeze, if the wind is blowing south then it is going to affect our hunt.. Well i wish everyone a good hunting season and god bless

Haven't had a chance to make out in the woods as of yet. My brother called me last Saturday, to tell me he got a 6 on GA's muzzle loader opener Hopefully this will be my year to get one, that's all I ask for, is just one. Good luck everybody. Later, Dave

Shot 2 does during our muzzleloading season. Didn't see a buck I wanted. Patiently waiting on rifle season now! Should get a nice one then. Hunting with the ole Sharps is my favorite choice anyway.

I took my Whitetail Buck yesterday with a freehand shot @ 228 yards as he was hard after a doe. It seems to be about a week or two earlier than I expected the Bucks to be getting all hot & bothered about the Does up here, but he definitely had a one track mind. I was Elk hunting, not Deer hunting when this nice Whitetail Buck kinda sidetracked me. My hunting partner was sidetracked in a similar manor about 3/4 mile away and 1/2 hour before I shot my Buck. Nope, we never saw an Elk all day... . The time I spend in practice definitely made this one shot kill a sure thing. Since I was hunting an area where longer shots on Elk were anticipated, I was packing my .338 Win Mag, yea I know it's overkill, but it died on impact from the only shot needed. Photo's to follow once the film is developed. --Ken

Congrats Savage! Off-hand at 228, yep, that's when all that practice pays off. Good shooting.

I had a good opening week. I shot a 7 point opening morning. A 3 point the following late afernoon. My partner on the second day shot a nice 10 point hot after a doe. That's all he had on his mind.A couple days later I shot and dropped a nice deer. I stayed in my stand for a few minutes.I noticed movement 30-40 yards from where I shot him.Bushes moving.I looked for a few hours and never found it.I wasn't sure exactly where it was when I shot it . I looked in the general area and where I saw the bushes moving.I know I hit him he went down the instant I squeezed the trigger. Before the sound could have gotten there. It was thick brush. I even rode the 4 wheeler to cover more territory. All I know it had a nice rack on it. I couldn't tell you if it was a 6 point 8 point or what.I did see bone way above the ears. Ruger Redhawk
