Last weekend I bought a Moultrie ATV Food Plot spreader.Oh yeah easy to install. I'm sure it would be if you had nothing else mounted. It's designed for the metal tube racks. The Polaris has the composite racks.I have a treestand rack on back so the next best place to mount it would be on the front rack.I made some brackets to mount to the rack then mounted the spreader to the brackets.Sounds easy.remember we're dealing with a Polaris.Nothing is easy on them.I drilled holes into the rack through the metal bracket that the composite rack mounts on.Underneath is a channel. We tried for quite awhile trying to get the bolt in.Finally we got it..A half hour job ended up taking a 3+ hours.I think it will work out well.As much trouble as it was to mount it better be right.

BT, The few times I contacted Polaris's customer service I would have been better off talking to the wall. They are useless.Moultrie should be the ones to design something. The bolts I had were a little long so we put a few washers.I'm not satisfied with the looks. Tomorrow I'll get he right length bolts and replace them.I'll take one out at a time.Only the one will be hard to replace.I have a friend at work who has small hands. I'll have him come over one afternoon and help me with it What made the job harder then it really was it so hot and sweat running in my glasses. The one side I could put two 3/8 bolts. The other side the way it designed I could only put one in.I do believe it will work out okay. Another thing I have to get a plug for the power port.It comes with alligator clips.Where the battery is on a Polaris it's next to impossible to use. I'll get the bugs worked out.It might take a little time but I will succeed..A little bit of seems to help LOL. Ruger Redhawk

Well I redid it today. The way I had it I would have to take everything off to remove the rack.I replaced the bolt with All Tread Rods and jam nuts. Now the ATR can stay in place and simply remove the brackets then the rack.On the jam nuts I used LocTite Red(262). I can guarantee they won't loosen up with the red LT on it.I'm much happier with it then the way it was.I bought one of the plug ends for the power point (cigarette lighter). I butt spliced it.Tonight at Wal*mart they have 50 pound bags of Deer food plot mix for 11.84 per 50#'s. I bought three bags of the mix. In a few weeks we'll go up to GA and put our plots in.If all goes right we should have a good season. Ruger Redhawk

There's a spreader in a Hardware Store that has a shoulder strap, bag for seed, adjustable flow and a crank handle. You get good exercise walking and spreading, with one complete turn of the handle per footstep. No trouble to mount!

Swampbird your idea sounds like a winner.I started something I'm determined to beat this thing one way or another.Actually the Moultrie spread worked out well. There was another small problem which I'm sure I corrected the other day. We plant on Firebreaks since we don't have a tractor or discs up there. The firebreaks are maybe 10'-12' wide. The spreader really throws the seed.I would estimate half of it was wasted going into the brush.I took some leftover Roofing drip rail and made shields to stop it from going so far.I didn't have any seed to try it . It's right even with the bottom of the throwing disc. It has to help some. I'll bet it throws the seed 12' or more to each side. That thing winds up.I did find where Moultrie does have a mounting kit for composite racks. That dang thing is almost as much as the spreader was. I have a couple bucks in my design . It might not be pretty but it works. Ruger Redhawk
