S&W is planning/has plans to start producing rifles, shotguns and other products. Thought anyone here that is a diehard S&W fan would like to know. Link: S&WLater, Dave

Yes, it will be interesting how well they perform. Of course the gun writers are going to drool all over what ever they put out of the factory.

The last S&W rifles were actually made by Howa. If S&W makes these in their own factories, I'd definitely be interested.

Several years back S&W had a line of Shotguns and rifles.Howa made the rifles. Might have been other Mfg's I don't know.Their shotguns I know were pumps and quite sure I remember a semi auto.In fact I think it was a model 1000.S&W will have allot of competition. It would be a hard market to get into when there are Remington 870's and all the rifles made by Ruger, Rem,Win ,Browning, Savage to name a few.I wish S&W the best. I personally think they are whizzing against the wind.IMHO they need to get the quality of their handguns back to what they were decades ago. Back in the mid to later 70's I worked PT at a gun shop. Even back then you could see the quality slipping.Smith isn't the only one.Remington's CS and QC has slipped. Even my beloved Ruger's aren't what they use to be.Yeah S&W will have their work cut out for them.I can assure you there won't be one at my house.I haven't forgotten the S&W sellout to the Clinton Administration.I know S&W are again American owned ,It just takes me awhile getting over traitors.
