What make scopes do you like?
Also, what magnification range and objective diameter do you prefer?
I prefer 3-9 or 3.5-10 power range, and 44 mm or smaller objective.
I don't care for adjustable objectives either on hunting guns.

For years all I would buy were Redfield's preferably "Widefields" until Redfield went belly up.At that time I went to Leupold's.I don't know anything about the new Redfields.I have a couple Weaver's and one Simmons I got with part of a trade. Most of my old RF's are 3x9's and the Leupolds are VariXII's 3x9x40mm.I do have a Redfield Illiuminator 3x9x50mm if I remember correctly. It's quite a scope.I have a Leupold 2x EER handgun scope on order which should be here next week.

Kahles, Swarovski, Zeiss & Zeiss Conquest's You can't beat the brightness of those German/Austrian scopes! If you plan on buying a top of the line Greman/Austrian scope do it now, they are going up 15-30% in mid july, and a lot of stores have the Swarovski's and Kahles on sale right now, I got a Kahles 3.5-10X50 for half price about three weeks ago!
I use a 3-9X40 Zeiss Conquest, on my 308 I use a 3.5-10X50 Kahles on my 270 WSM I use a 3-9X40 "OLD" Tasco on my 257 Roberts, good scope just not comparable to the others! I also have Simmons, Leupold, and the old style Unertal's on my Remington 40X's, the Unertal's are the only ones that come close to the German/Austrian Optics!

Heck a swarovski, ain't nothin' on a Unertal, but they don't make 'em like the one's I have anymore, there is a 1 year back order on them for the military! And now they are more user friendly, and compact, the sniper's in the military use the new style, on their Remington's, mine are old dino's compared to what they have now!

PS it ain't me that has the money I am as tight as a frog's exhuast pipe, I get 'em on sale or used, or don't get 'em at all!

Dave you would be surprised, that is why I gave everyone a head's up on buying German/Austrian optics NOW! (they gonna go up 15-20% buy mid july, and a lot of shop's have had the Swarovski/Kahles scopes on sale for about a month, but you gotta go to a big shop, that moves a lot of merch.), I got that list price $899.00 Kahles for $495, and the salesman I deal with at my favorite gunshop, threw in the mount's and ring's (that was $55. or so off right there, but I bring him a lot of business, and his boss gives him a lot of leway!) You get the right salesman, and do business with him and him alone you get sortof a kin-ship thing going on, and he will do you rite!

For those that are limited in funds and cannot afford the real high end stuff here is a heads up.Leupold is coming out with a new scope called the "Rifleman" this year and if it is not in your stores yet wait for it you will not be disappointed it will be in the $2-250 range is price retail. I have been using there scopes for over 25 years and have never had a problem.
