Here are a couple of pics I pulled off a cam yesterday. It looks like something slapped this young fellow on the front leg. ------------- a closer look ----------------- And a close-up buck pic. Looks like this little fellow has been making some rubs. I saw several little striped maples rubbed on my way to the cam. Note the green bark on his antlers, near the brow tines.

nice photos! and all 243 can say is "KABANG!" comon 243 get out of the gutter! Breathe some fresh air! and get out of the first grade! You need to learn how to type in complete sentences to a paragraph! The deer looks like he is about to kiss the camera that or eat it! The bear has been through several fights or battles i can tell! Anyway, nice photos, just be careful when hunting from the ground, and make sure you don't fall asleep or else that deer will be in your face the way it is to the camera! good luck this hunting season and god bless

kabang means you need to trail the deer first... The hard work doesn't start until after the shot, then you need to work on blood trailing it (if it ran off) and skinning it and gutting it.. never mind you'll never understand

*sigh* Let me explain, you know after your gun goes "kabang"? well then if you hit the deer then you need to blood trail it to find it if it didn't fall in it's tracks... The real work comes in when you trail the deer then go to skin and gut it.. Understand now? I sure hope so!

Now that you've explained it a little better, it makes more sense. Although I'm not sure what hard work you are talking about. Gutting them is easy, and if you know where to shoot them, and shoot well enough to hit them there, you don't have to trail them.

yeah if you shoot them good.
But the hard work is to drag them out of the woods, etc.
I haven't killed anything yet, but i hope i soon will..
god bless

Kabang? My .22 sounds kinda like that, but my "baby" makes more of a "BOOM". When you hear it...it does mean dinner.

nah, i think the .22 sounds like "pap" but my 30-30 goes "bang" and above all that my 12 gauge goes "kowakabooom!" need to trail that deer and find it before you get dinner out of it

12 ga., I have no doubt that someone beats you on a regular basis.
And if your shotgun makes noises like you describe, I think there is something wrong with it. I've heard a lot of 12 guage shotguns, and I have yet to hear one quite like that.
If you shoot a deer, are you going to have backstrap AND tenderloins?
