I watched a show one night on the Discovery Channel and it was talking about the U.S. Navy Seals. The part of the show that caught my attention was the part about how the Seals stay warm in sub-zero weather. They wore body suits made on nylon, the same material that pantyhose and knee high stockings are made of. I recently read about nylon hunting socks. After what I remember watching on the Discovery Channel, I think that they might be a good investment. Im not sure how long nylon socks have been avaliable to hunters but the idea is new to me. Has anyone else read about or tried a pair of these?

buckNrut I've never seen any of these you're talking about . Not being funny why wouldn't womens knee high stocking do the same thing if they are the same material. There are some big women out there so finding a pair large enough shouldn't be to hard to find. For bigger sizes you might have to go where they sell full figured womens sizes.Heck for a few bucks it's worth a try.I've been using for the last few year the hunting socks Walmart sells. The are a wool nylon blend. They seem to work pretty good.If I remember right they are Remington brand.I forget what they cost. I think 5 something for two pairs. If you only have one leg you're getting four pairs. Ruger Redhawk

BuckNrut it just came to my mind. Not long ago I did see some strange looking socks at WM.They were real thin and gray colored.I'll bet that's what they were. They were real smooth feeling.I saw them a few weeks ago at a WM in Waycross Ga.You might check your local WM. If I see anymore I'll check them out and let you know. They were in the sporting goods dept. They might have something like that in the men's dept to.At Walmarts you never know where to look Ruger Redhawk

Yeah I thought about raiding my wife's dresser but I think that would rather have my feet get cold rather than feel her wrath when she sees me in a pair of her knee highs! How would I explain that one!! Na all jokes aside ill try to find that article I read and post it here. Im looking really hard to find a good way to keep my feet warm, thats the only thing that will mess a good day hunting.

Putting stockings on would the least of my worries. How do you think I felt walking in a store dressed in camo buying Tampons to put my deer lure on. I don't care let them think what they want. Ruger Redhawk

Yeah I got the point. That was the only time I did that. Still hiding my head in shame. It really wasn't that bad. They do work good though.Easy to tie on and they are great for holding the lure .If it comes down needing more I'll do it again. This time I'll wear my face mask Ruger Redhawk

Just invest in a good pair of boots and don't worry about it. I buy Cabela's boots for 99.00 and they have 600 gram thinsulate. I wear my regular everyday socks and never get cold feet.
