I called the guy at the shop and ask questions ha ha . He assured me he has been in business for 30+ years and he wouldn't set me up wrong. The arrow weight and the 75 grain tips he assured me are right for my bow set up. I am only pulling 40# right now, and when I'm able to set on up to 55# he said would be alright to go to heavier arrow and broadheads. He said I could go on down to the 100 in arrows which is even lighter. And that it would not run the risk of dry firing with my bow. The lighter arrows and tips will fly faster but not have the penetration the heavier arrows will have. But with me only pulling 40# the lighter arrow is all I need right now. Also he said in shooting the 20 to 30 yds. That I am shooting right now that the penetration will be sufficient. But that the retractable blades take energy to open so with me only pulling 40# that the fixed broadheads will probably give me more penetration. I am having a blast with this new adventure. And am wanting to learn it all too quick ! I am still not hitting the bullseye ( although close ) It would be real nice to know that all my equipment was on and the variation in shots was my doing. Is hard to know when your a beginner if it be you or the bow Thanks for all advice! Has sure helped me out. And would appreciate any other tips as far as beginner bow hunting getting sighted in and flying straight LOL. LOVE IT !
